I've been "promoted"
Posted by XTX
Since nowadays, the “baby room” in our church had been occupied by younger babies and with all my “bigger friends” being promoted to the toddler class of the Sunday school. I felt kinda “out of place” & lonely in the baby room already. So for the past 2 weeks, mummy had tried to bring me to join the toddler class even though I’m still not quite “qualify” for it yet (it’s for children age 3-5). Mummy said I'm like stuck in the middle of "twilight zone", neither fit in the baby room nor the toddler's class. However; I surprised mummy by blended in quite well and actually enjoyed myself very much. I felt very at ease that I took it like my own home (literally!) that I even lie on the floor when listening to teacher (slap head from mummy). Since I’m still so too small and my concentration span is still very short; mummy wanted me to take it slowly and one step at a time. For the first week, we only attended the the beginning part of the lesson and mummy took me out to give me my lunch after I started to show signs of boredom (I was wandering around the class doing my own “exploring”).
Then this week, she took me to join the children praise & worship session and I enjoyed it very very much singing and doing actions with all the big ko-ko & che-che. I was exceptional happy that I refused to leave che-che and let her join her friends. I even sat quietly next to che-che when Ps. Lee Siang was praying and did well in putting my offering into the offering bag like other ko-kos & che-ches. After the praise and worship time; I joined the toddler class and did “coloring” on my own. Mummy was very proud of me for being so well behaved despite I’m the youngest in Sunday School. However; mummy had to bring me back to the baby room after my coloring as one of the girl in the toddler class was having very serious coughs and sneezes and she wouldn’t want me to catch any of the bug. I couldn’t wait to to show daddy my “masterpiece” the moment I went into the main worship hall and daddy was so proud of me too.
Oh I enjoyed it so much and couldn’t wait for next Sunday to come faster!

"Reward" for helping teacher
Posted by TXT
The below post may not be of an “appealing sight” for your appetite. So mummy said for you to skip it if you were of a faint hearted wor. Mummy said she got a shock of her lifetime when she picked me up from school last Thu to be “welcomed” by this….
You see, during my science period (the last 2 before school ends), my science teacher had requested for me to help open a window in the science lab. Being a helpful and obedient student (ahem…), I went and open it without realizing it was faulty. So the glass just broke and fell and cut my finger. The cut was quite deep and long and I had wanted to cry initially. But I reminded myself that I’m already 8 years old so I shouldn’t behave like a cry-baby anymore. (Mummy was so proud of me!) The science teacher sent my monitor to accompany me to the teacher’s office to get the wound attended by the afternoon head while she continued on her lessons.
After we got home and bathed, mummy changed the bandage (which she said they looked like some big rotten sausage!) into cute Disney plaster and that’s when the “miracle” happened as I was “healed” instantly and could even complete my homework (eventhogh my teacher told me that I do not have to) and played ball with Baby Jo. Mummy was very proud and pleased with how I had behaved and handled this incident. But she was not quite happy on how I had replied to my sweet friend, B whom was so kind to offer in helping me with my bag. I had told her it’s OK as I still have another hand that is not injured. Mummy claimed that I was pretty rude with my reply but I was just telling the truth ma… {mummy slapping her head!}
Note from mummy : We were very proud of how she’d handled it (for not crying) but was rather put-off after we learnt that the afternoon head/teachers were aware of the faulty window but yet did nothing about it until our poor girl became the “victim”. The least they could do (if they could not find someone to fix it in time) is at least to put a note or something to warn the kids not to touch it! And I checked with Zo again on Fri after school that they still had not got the problem fixed despite some innocent child was already hurt! Dang!

Daddy loves me this I know
Posted by XTX
If you are in mummy’s FB friends list, you may know that she had got me a toy stroller as ‘compensation” for me not being able to tag along with che-che and her “mother & daughter day out” due to I’m “underage” for the movie. I was very very happy and excited with this new toy and couldn't wait to bring Mickey out for a stroll. But this doesn't last long until……. our 9years old cousin brother (yes, BROTHER!) came to our house played with it and BROKE it beyond repair! Mummy was very very upset as the stroller was not even 2-days old. My Ji-kor (daddy’s sister, cousin’s mum) felt very sorry for what her son had done and returned mummy the stroller cost thru Ah-ma.
To make mummy more furious (for wasting her time, energy and petrol), she had gone through the hassle by scouting from supermarket to supermarket, mall to mall and shop to shop but with no avail as none of the shop in Penang carries this toy anymore. Even the Jusco store where mummy had gotten it also ran out of stock!
Mummy was about to give the cousin a piece of her mind when she sees him; but then guessed what daddy presented to us when he reached home last night from his 8 days long business trip? Tadah!!! Daddy had gotten me a new stroller! And it has even more “features” then the previous one (of course price also a lot more lar). Best part is, its metal framed so it’s definitely stronger to withstand the “monster’s” attack! Daddy told che-che to tell our cousin that this stroller is meant for GIRLS only. If he wants to play with it, he will have to wear a SKIRT first (mummy added that must take pic and post up FB!). HAH! Serve him right!

Ipoh food excursion
Posted by TXT
Due to daddy will be away for a long 8 days including the weekends again, initially mummy planned to take a trip to KL on her own (as in without JoJo & I) tagging along with daddy’s business trip. But then she thought we should have a short family holiday together instead since daddy won’t be home during the next weekend. Therefore she planned out a very last minute food excursion to Ipoh for the weekend without realizing that it was a super peak holiday (due to King’s birthday) and almost all the decent hotels were fully booked. But thank God finally she managed to find a hotel – Heritage Ipoh which still has the higher category rooms available. And since we have Ah-ma with us, it would be more feasible for us to have the Suite room with an extra bed instead of booking 2 executive rooms.
We departed Penang on Sat 4/Jun around 11:30pm after our haircuts and took the trip easy as mummy said she just want to enjoy the trip with only eating, eating and eating, which was basically what we did since we arrived! Thank God we still managed to reach Ipoh and had our lunch at Kong Heng Coffee Shop before they closes for the day. However; the chicken koay teow and the pork innards satay were sold out. What a bummer! After lunch, we proceeded to check-in at the hotel. Overall, we were happy with the spacious room and the newly tiled and clean bathroom. But the aircond was a bit malfunction and it was very warm. Daddy complaint twice and was later told by the technician that due to the Suite was not commonly occupied, therefore they did not power on the compressor at usual hence causing the compressor to be a bit “under-power”. What a lame excuse eh?!
After freshened up, we proceeded to Kinta Parade for some shopping before we had our tea-break at the Chatter Kopitiam as it was raining heavily outside and JoJo had fallen asleep. After the rain had stop, we proceeded to Thong Sui Kai (aka Dessert Street) for our scrumptious dinner. I exceptionally love the mix-fruit ice that mummy ordered. It was so refreshing and colorful. We went back to the hotel and called it day after dinner. Oh, JoJo and I also had great fun playing in the bubble bath and jumping from bed to bed before we fell tiredly on the bed into z-land.
Ok, initial plan was to wake up at 6am on Sun so that we could go to the famous Foh San to have our tim sum breakfast. But, unfortunately, everyone was so tired that we overslept and only woke at 9am. Hihihi. But we still managed to go for our tim sum breakfast at Yoke Fook Moon which is few shops away from Foh San and was the 2nd recommended (next to Foh San) tim sum place by the locals and bloggers (yes, mummy did her “homework” well before the trip!). The steam tim sums were super yummy filled with fresh juicy succulent prawns. However; the deep friend ones were a bit on the “hard” side. We had a good meal and the price was very reasonable too for the quality of food. If you do not wish to go through the crazy fights for tables and food at Foh San but wanted the equal quality of food, mummy said YFM is highly recommended.
After such a heavy breakfast, mummy suggested that we go for a stroll at the nearby Ipoh Parade for some “exercise”. We went back to the hotel and took another round of bubble bath before we check-out at about 1pm+. Then lunch was at another very highly recommended seafood restaurant – Pusing Public Seafood Restaurant for another very scrumptious, high quality, good service and reasonable pricing meal. After lunch, we wanted to take-away the famous Aun Kheng Lim Ipoh Salted Chicken home as our dinner but unfortunately they were sold out and the next batch would take a 45mins wait. Mummy wouldn’t want to waste the time so daddy googled out that they have another branch located near the highways where we got our take-way with a breeze. At the same area, mummy also got some local specialty biscuits as souvenirs for her office colleagues. We finally reached home about 5pm which daddy predicted (our daddy clever hor?). In the evening, mummy cooked chicken rice (using Cosway DeliChef paste) to go with the salted chicken. Even JoJo had the same as dinner and gave her two thumbs up!
As you can see; this had really been a real “food excursion” which we ate from arrival and even until we are back home. Mummy said she dared not step up the weighing machine after the past 2 days. As for me, ah-ma said since I enjoyed Ipoh food so much, I should visit Ipoh more often. Mummy was saying I should marry an Ipoh boy instead. ISH mummy, don’t even have any idea about it ya!

Princesses' party 2011
Posted by XTX
As mentioned before, due to che-che’s exam, mummy and daddy had to push back our birthday celebration until much later. So on last Sun 29 May, we had a small combined party at our Children Church.
It’s just a small party as daddy said we cannot have big big party every year one as it’s a waste of money and we have to be thankful for what we have and think of those whom are less fortunate wor. Also, mummy said we need to save for our possible year end holidays too so cannot simply spend unnecessarily.
For this special occasion, mummy had searched hi and lo for months for a new baker for our cake as the usual one she goes to, the quality had detriorate and prices also a bit outrages. After asked for a few, she finally found this homebased baker via online and which is near to her office. But due to he (yes, he’s a man. An uncle to be exact) runs a homebased bakery; he does not have those hi-tech tools to make the design mummy wanted. But our clever mummy hor, “suddently” remembers she had bought those super cool Princess icing sheets from HOI last year which she could put them into good use. And bingo, the cupcakes turned out to be so AWESOME and everyone was so impressed. The taste was very good too. Mummy said she will definitely go back to this bakery in the future.
Besides the cupcakes (reason for having cupcakes is for convenient sake as it involves young children. It’s less messy and saves the environment too as does not need to serve them on paper plates. Our mummy clever hor?), mummy also specially packed 50 party bentos as the party gift bags for all the children and teachers. Later we got to know from Ah-ma that mummy packed the bentos until almost 2am on Sat night (Sun morning). Aww… we are so touched and this shows how much mummy loves us.
